Berlin and Hamburg are doing a good job in their
efforts to become Germany's bidder for the 2024 Olympics, German
Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) chief Alfons Hoerman said on
Wednesday.
"As far as we are concerned both cities have worked very good and
very intense over the past weeks and months," Hoerman said at an
event in Berlin.
Hoerman praised "great concepts" of the cities from which the DOSB
will decide at a ballot on March 21.
The DOSB president said he expected a good bid but that the March
decision also pended on the outcomes of late February polls
evaluating public support in each city.
The final saying about a bid intention, to be submitted by September
15 to the International Olympic Committee, is also with the public in
the form of a referendum in the winning city.
The 2024 host city is elected by the IOC in 2017 at its session in
Lima. Boston has been picked as United States bidder, and Rome,
Paris, Istanbul, Doha are also said to be interested along with a
possible bid from South Africa.
